You Are Entitled To An Opinion, Jeffrey Williamson's

1492 and All That - Global Policy Forum - Globalization: "Yet a provocative recent paper* argues that there is little evidence that world markets were truly integrated before about 1800."

Not a bad read. A bit old, but hey, I just learned who Williamson was.

The secret Downing Street memo - Sunday Times - Times Online

Just in case you had any lingering doubt about the Mess 'O Potamia...

The secret Downing Street memo - Sunday Times - Times Online: "Military action was now seen as inevitable. Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy."

Cost of flying in Canada could soar

The Globe and Mail: Cost of flying in Canada could soar

The airlines (both of them) are worried? I am guessing they are hoping for this to happen. Its not like we are all going to start driving across the country.

There Is No Bottom

Dancing with the Stars another well-shined turd from ABC. Take B and C level "stars", train them to be ballroom dancers for six weeks, and let them loose! The show looked like a long version of the famous Chris Farley sketch where he figure skated with Katarina Witt. One well-trained professional does all the moves whilst the schmo stands still and waves his arms. At least Farley was funny. This was sad. Except for the judges. They are kind, but truthful. So the crowd hates them. "How dare you insult a celebrity!" The nerve of that French guy. Oh, and one of the judges almost sounds Australian. I pray he cries out "No new steps! No wild, crowd-pleasing steps at the Pan Pacifics!" Now that was some funny ballroom dancing.

Here is another fairly accurate, yet far too generous review. Lucas, you suck.

The New Yorker: SW III Review

I would give this film an even lower rating than what is offered here. Episode 3 is a steaming pile of pig poopee.
