These brilliant quotes from a The Globe and Mail article about the 14 Marines from the 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment who were killed "by a giant roadside bomb near Haditha, Iraq".
“My personal feelings on Dennis Kucinich is that he's a traitor,” said Adam Shannon, a friend and business partner of Lance Cpl. Brian Montgomery, one of the marine snipers killed on Monday. “You can't oppose the war on terror, but say you support the people who are fighting the war on terror.”
You can't oppose war and support those who are trained to fight one? Well, actually, you can. I will always support higher pay and better gear for our military, but I will be loathe to use them outside the country. Now wasn't that easy.
Next idiotic statement:
“I believe we should quit pussyfooting around and level the place,” said Mrs. Deyarmin, who was sitting in her large backyard in the town of Tallmadge — about 50 kilometres from Brook Park — tearfully reminiscing with friends about her only son. “After all, we're going to rebuild it in any case.”
Ahh, the voice of the retarded. This requires no comment from anyone with a neuron that fires infrequently.
And one more from the erudite Ms. Montgomery:
"Ms. Montgomery has printed up a flyer with her husband's photograph in his Marine uniform and the message: “If you can speak in English, thank a Marine.” She's circulated them to businesses all over town."
Yes, only the U.S. fought WWI and WWII. Only they saved the world. Thank god for them.

Analyst: Sony could wait till '07 to launch PS3 - News at GameSpot
I think that this would be a very smart move as I am not sure that the 360 will do that well. Once again, it's all about the games.

Canada's Next Governor-General
I thought it was ridiculous when Martin appointed back-room boys and toadies to our uselsess Senate, but the choice of Michaelle Jean to the position of Governor General should really underscore the uselessness of the position to those still loyal to Crown before the country.
If the job of Governor-General, the legal head of the country, is so much pointless window-dressing that any noob can have the job, then why have it? And how nice that we have had three broadcasters fill the positions. Why broadcasters? I guess their public faces are untarnished. Though to be fair, I doubt many Canadians have seen Madame Jean's face as it only appears for a minute preceeding the documentaries that appear on a cable news channel. Certainly the choice of Irish-born Hilary Weston as Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario was worse, but this is not much better. Why not Jean Beliveau? Or Ron Lancaster? Why didn't we mak Ernie Coombs GG for life when we had the chance? Or how about someone, maybe even a diplomat, who has worked tirelessly for the country in some backwater appointment for most of his/her life? How about one of the many deserving members, past and present, of our military? Or how about we dump the whole sham.
And to think that I thought making Huge Seagull a Senator was bad.
