After having read "Goodbye to All That" by Robert Graves, and "The Last True Story I'll Ever Tell" by John Crawford, I have this to say about the fighting man; I do not, and cannot, know what you have endured.

Half-Wits Asleep At the Wheel
The Globe and Mail had this article about Intelligent Design being taught in the Toronto Catholic District School Board. Enjoy this choice comment from a biology teacher with 35 years experience:
"How did the eyeball develop? How do you make an eyeball from no eyeball? Three-quarters of an eyeball is no good. There are things the experts [who hold that Charles Darwin's theory of evolutionary natural selection accounts for the state of all living organisms] can't answer."
Well, the experts have dealt with that issue. Extensively.
On the secular [reality based] front in Toronto:
"...evolution, in any event, has never been a cause of controversy, said Douglas Hayhoe, the Toronto District School Board's central co-ordinating principal for science and technology. "The reason is that Toronto is a strongly multicultural community where [everyone] has been taught to respect each other's beliefs."
Evolution is not a belief. Evolution is an accepted scientific fact. That humans were found under a clam by the raven is a belief.

Retards With Computers
Enjoy this utterance from some retard on the 640amToronto discussion board
The author has this to say about liberals (I think he means liberals; the board is so fucked-up that it is hard to tell what is going on):
"They offer their opinion as fact based on a falicious premis which requires the Johnnies to provide nothing more than spewed vindictive narcissism."
Brilliant. Bad spelling, bad grammar, and bad logic. And yet, he still managed to buy a computer, get on the internet, and post this crap. Humans are amazing!

Everytime the Catholic Church Lies an Angel Loses His Wings
Catholic Church no longer swears by truth of the Bible
This should make the ID idiots blow a stack. Oh wait, they will just claim that Catholics don't know The Truth, so they can't be trusted. Or some such swill.

Christian Teens Talk Evolution
Thanks to serendipity, I came upon a forum for christian teens wherein the discussion fell upon evolution vs. creationism.
"biblical anarchist" had this to say (the emphasis is mine):
hmm, scientifically (not religiously) there is more proof against evolution than creation....no one adimits it though because they dont want to look stupid. a book was writien by a man who was an athiest who set out to prove it right, and ended up proving it wrong....i jsut cant remember the book. anyways, if you know anything about the human genome project, it proves that humans only have a few more genes than the average mouse......apes, ect have way more. also it shows that all women have a gene that trace back to one woman....its called the eve gene, need i say more? im going into molecular biology: pre-med in the fall.....hopfully i'll learn more about this.
also, in 8th grade my science teacher was a christian, and told the class if they wanted to know evolution to go look it up because he refused to teach it!!!!! he stated what he believed and left it at that. it was cool.
I love it when teens put a lie to the "kids are so much smarter these days" argument. Knowing how to use Itunes makes you smart like my Maroon swimming badge makes me a lifeguard.
