Great Twitchy Game!
Escapa! is an online flash game with a simple concept. Click and hold the red square and avoid the walls and the blocks. It is the old-school shooter with a twist. Post your best times here.

The Globe and Mail: The troubled case history of suspect Francois Pepin
The Globe and Mail has a comment section after some of their major stories. Here is a comment from Warren W of Vancouver. He is commenting on the slaying of Constable Valérie Gignac in Montreal.
"Here's the real kicker for me. If that was an illegal gun, it was
probably stolen or smuggled from the states. Years ago, such guns would
be sold by the cirminal immediately... to a licensed gun owner. Gun
owners pay top dollar for guns like that. No one ever cracked down on
that because it got guns off the streets and back in to the hands of
lawful citizens, who probably didn't evenknow it was stolen.
But - since the gun registry came out there's no way for criminals to
sell those guns except to other criminals and those wishing them
illegally. And of course - once one criminal has a gun, his
'associates' want one too, to 'keep up'. It's become so popular that
the streets are flooded. "
Let's revisit this insanity - "such guns would be sold by the cirminal immediately... to a licensed gun owner." He is arguing that gun control legislation is keeping illegal weapons out of the hands of the good people, and forcing criminals to sell to the criminal element. In Warren's economic model, relaxed gun control would allow demand for rifles and hand guns to increase, and so the excess supply of illegal guns would no longer have to be borne by the criminal element. Of course, this won't help the streets which are "flooded" with guns, but it will let the legal consumer into this valuable market. Sadly, Warren does not realise that when he points a finger, five point back at him. "Gun owners pay top dollar for guns like that." I assume he is referring to the .338 that killed Constable Gignac. Warren does not see that it is the gun owners, and our previously lax laws that have allowed the market to flourish. There was evidently demand for guns that could not be filled here, so the criminal element stepped into the supply chain. Sounds to me like the gun consumer is at fault. Maybe they should buy Canadian rifles, or perhaps, none at all.

Best First Video Game Console - Kotaku
Kotaku has an interesting poll : what do you think a child's first console should be? An Atari 2600? PS2? A Gameboy?
I lean toward the 2600 for the easy-to-control setup, and then maybe a Gameboy (to teach them how to take care of their own things - wee-shui excepted).
Any thoughts?

CPA Providing Jobs For Students
I think it is great that the Conservative Party has hired students from Bow Valley College to produce their TV ads. I think the amateurish quality and bad lighting are precious! Kind of like third-grader art you find on the fridges of proud parents.
Though maybe, next time, they might want to use the Alberta College of Art and Design so that they ads don't look quite so bad.
