You have a dispute with the government? Get in line. What about my rights to move about freely without disruption or threat by someone with a beef? I sympathise with native concerns, however, it disturbs me when the government, fearful of a political backlash, abandon law enforcement and allow anarchists to use force to get their own way. The courts and police should not have to meter their response.

Check out this killer PIII gaming monster! And no monitor! What a fantastic deal, and what a fantastic way to get into computing and be frustrated from the get-go.

Retro Music Minus the Cynicism?
I have been trying on a new idea of late; listening to retro tunes (specifically crap that was popular in my high school days) and doing so without my usual cynicism. For example, listen to this clip and try to remember how it would send you and your goofy friends leaping onto the dance floor in excited anticipation. Or maybe you took that riff as your clue to sulk on the bleachers. Regardless, it was an affecting song, and if I forget everything in the last 25 years (or block it out for five minutes), I can still enjoy the song. And I am going to try to do this more often - enjoy songs with a nod to how much I did in my youth. Like "Ice Ice Baby". Everyone, including you, enjoyed that song. It was a massive hit (15 million sold) and made young Rob a star for a time. Unless you worked for Rolling Stone, and you didn't, you had no idea the guy was a fraud. But you did recognize the Queen riff, because you did have some cool.
Now, I am in no way suggesting you listen to some god-forsaken version of BobFM, or Mix WhateverFM, but that you pull out some 45s (hey, my turntable works) and dance your ass off for a bit. Just don't let the kids see you. You may enjoy, as I did, a few blissful moments free of wearying cynicism and sarcasm.

The Thought Police - They Live Inside of My Head
His Royal Sovereign, Lord Harper. Thou art a reeky, crook-pated dewberry.
