Pierre Vercheval Named to CFL Hall of Fame: Jim Dandy asleep at the switch...

I realize that this guy wasn't a comic book figure or a super hero, but he was a Mustang and an above average one at that. Vercheval's induction is yet more evidence that coach Larry Haylor had unbelievable talent in his stable yet he was incapable of using it in a productive way. Vercheval's induction is also historic as he is the first quebe born, french speaking CFL player to be honored with the Hall induction. Given the rise of Laval and some of the other francophone university football programs in Quebec, he will not be the last.

I am shocked, nay shocked and disappointed, that JimDandy Goodness failed to recognize Vercheval and his storied career.

Oh, and Darren Flutie got inducted too. I guess the CFL ran out of ways to honor Doug Flutie so now they are resorting to inducting his family. Ma Flutie should be in the class of '08, or is she currently playing for the TiCats now? That could explain their record. And if Darren trolls this site and responds, then we will see his own case in support of his induction.

Finally, join me in my campaign to get Brian Williams off of the air and out of any hall of fame.

Werds an Stuff

In case you hadn't wandered through the fetid bower that is my blog roll, allow me to point out a few sites of interest.

Right off the bat we find KD, who was been on fire as of late. This professional writer touches on comics, Kung-Fu films, and the "egotistical disregard of tradition in the finest wushu sense."

Do yourself a favour and take five minutes to enjoy words arranged both expertly and delightfully.

On that note, do stop by Kevin's blog. He is another professional writer, with reasoned opinions on politics, popular culture, and the outrageously sweaty weather in Japan.

These two are among my daily reads, as they keep me revising my posts in the vain attempt to approach their quality of writing. Bookmark them.
