One Minute Movie Review: Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist

I really wanted to hate this movie. I set out to hate it and all of its run-of-the-mill romantic teen comedy notions.

But it charmed me. The movie is simply charming. Kat Denning is the girl we all knew existed but couldn't find, and Michael Cera is the nerd we didn't have the courage to be.

And bears.

I never thought that a movie based in New York could so ably use a bear, and people being mauled by bears, to such comic effect. A gentle, sensitive teen flick that doesn't shy away from real emotions, or bears.

  1. I don't think I could handle watching another movie with Mr. Cera in it. Same for ellen page. I will not watch any movie with Cera or Page, and definitely not Cera and Page. There, it's off my chest. These actors, don't enjoy watching them despite rave reviews like this one.

  2. Yes, I loved it as well. Kat Denning should have been at Westminster so we could have fought, Scott Pilgrim-stylee, over her.

Speaking of which, I think Cera will be fine as Scott Pilgrim.

  3. I had the same opinion you did Herb, still do. But Cera won me over in spite of that. Plus, bears.

KD: Kat Denning would be well worth a bloody nose or two. And is Cera really going to be Scott Pilgrim? Sounds right. Any idea who is being cast as the bear?

  4. watched this last night on your reccommendation and was not really that charmed, though Kat Denning is teh teenage hotness I'd have pined for in my youth.
Too much Michael Cera geekiness, not enough bears IMHO.

  5. I suppose Kat charmed me more than I thought. Plus, I went in ready to hate, hate, hate. Maybe I mistook a lack of hate for liking.
