Podcasts and Blasphemy

One of my favourite podcasts is Irreligiosophy. Hosted by two former members of the LDS Church, it is an irreverent, irascible and irredeemable assault on the Christian faith that can only come from people who know their bibles (and books of mormonses) forwards and back. And they use this knowledge to ridicule all that is considered holy.

And it is really fucking funny.

As evidence; their video interpretation of Mark 5:1-20, wherein Jesus cast demons into a herd of swine and then casts said swine into the sea. Neat and tidy.

Or not.

Another Look at Western vs. Queen's

In fairness to fair discourse, I present a slightly different view of this weekend's Yates Cup. Dr. Chilm Richalds wants you to know thatWestern Rocks. Queen’s Sucks. It’s Science :

"Have you ever wondered why Western beats Queen’s like a red-headed stepchild in football year after year (except for a few Tommy Denison years) why Queen’s students continue to live in dorm rooms for the remainder of their lives (so I hear), and why deep down you just KNOW you’re having a way better time at UWO or UofOttawa, or…well not York, than they are at Queen’s?"

Utterly preposterous. Queen's will win the Vanier Cup by virtue of their better sportsmanship and their refusal to run up the score on their hapless opponents. If that doesn't convince you, then go check out the CIS team stats. Come Saturday, we'll all be singing "Oil thigh na Banrighinn a'Banrighinn gu brath!"

I Guess It's Over For the Mustangs

Regarding their Yates Cup battle with Queen's this weekend, Mustang running back Nathan Riva had this to say:

"Queen's is the best team in the OUA".
