Is Wintery Knight the dumbest person on the internet? I report, you decide...
My view is that stories like global warming and evolution are really just the latest round of flat-earth myths which have no basis in fact but are believed solely because they are useful for powerful people who want to undermine traditional moral values by misleading children in government-run schools. The elites want to act sinfully, but they don’t want anyone to judge them. They think that if they can trick enough people to believe lies about God, that God might cease to exist because we voted him out. Unfortunately for them, building a consensus of people who are mistaken doesn’t change objective reality. And God doesn’t grade on a curve.
People who reject Christianity need to be careful about letting their feelings determine what they believe.
And yet, Wintery Knight is able to work a computer. Humans are amazing.

Kevin Asks the Hard Questions

Over at The Woodshed, Kevin asks the question that needs to be asked:
Are we all completely 100% sure that Don Cherry wasn't secretly calling the plays for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in their last-second championship loss to the Montreal Alouettes?
Interesting. Don, any thoughts? No? No, I'm not surprised.

Stung by their last-second loss to Montreal, the Roughriders are already preparing for the 2010 season with this instructional video.
H/T to Herb for letting me steal his joke.

Blame It On 45s

Some things you just miss, and I can't believe I missed this one. Released in August of 1974, Bachman-Turner Overdrive's "Not Fragile" took a titular stab at Yes and their 1972 release, Fragile. Two songs on the album are "hit" and AOR staples: "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" and "Roll On Down the Highway". Being all of 6 in 1974, I wasn't into album rock. And by the time I was, BTO was definitely not on my radar.
Fast forward to Randy's Vinyl Tap, the weekly master class in music put on by Randy Bachman. Randy wa musing about the past (as he does every show; the guy played with everyone) and he started to talk a little about BTO. Next thing you know, this ridiculously fun and heavy sound comes over the radio and I am left thinking, "They chose the stuttering song over this?"
OUA Rep. Wins Vanier Cup...Canada West Continues Legacy of Failure
As predicted on this blog, the OUA continued its dominance in Canadian Interuniversity sports with its representative taking the Vanier Cup in what must be considered a football classic. Canada West continues to come up short in the big game, and that has to be frustrating for a league that purports to be the toughest in the country.
Jim Dandy Goodness sports reporter Pete James's Ghost sent these gameday tweets from Laval...
--In spite of suffering a concussion on the first play of the game, Dinos qb Glavic is back in the game and has the Dinos up by 18
--I know more about Queen's than the Dinos coaching staff. Who in Canada didn't
know that Brannigan would throw long to number 8 at the start of the second
half?
--Glavic is forcing things and the mistakes are piling up.
--Brannigan showing why he is likely one of the most efficient quarterbacks ever to play.
--Brannigan awesome in the 4th quarter, taking chunks of yards out of the Dinos D, three third down conversions on the final drive.
--And, a classy finish that Mustang fans would not understand, Queen's took a knee on the 1 with 15 seconds left to win by two rather than punching it in to win by 9.
--2 point margin. Calgary missed a chip shot field goal in the third
quarter. They dropped a pass on the fourth quarter two point convert. They
yielded a safety to avoid punting into a heavy wind. Altogether they gave
Queen's 7 points.
--So right about now, UWO, and Laval must be the most frustrated teams in
Canada. Small losses in games they could have won to a team that squeaked
out a victory.
--I also want to say that the Dinos have joined a infamous league of playoff
coaches. In heavy winds with a quarterback struggling and running backs
making big gains, they abandoned the running game and when to the air with
the long strike. I can't stand it.
Thanks PJG. We look forward to your further coverage of CIS sports.

Sucking Killed the Radio Star
Has it happened? Can we now consign rap music (like this for example)
to the same remainder bin in which we put Norwegian death metal?
As an old school fan of rap, and a fan of music, the answer is yes. Enjoy the irrelevance rap, you've earned it.
