Shorter Jim Chapman--Just Shut Up and Take It

Opining on opinion and opinioneering in his new online newspaper thingy, Jim Chapman has this to say:

"What is an opinion worth? As you will see elsewhere in the Voice of London, opinion plays a significant role when we discuss city hall politics....I have had the opportunity for almost two decades to comment publicly on the things I see and hear around me. Radio, television, newspapers, magazines, all have afforded me the very great privilege of a soapbox from which to share my opinions, critical and otherwise...."

And what do we see at the bottom of this vigorous defense of Jim's right to speak his piece?

Well, perhaps Jim is thin-skinned. Big headed, but thin of skin. I'm sure his editor, Herman Gooden, won't be so dainty and fearful of opinion from the anonymous masses...oh. Never mind.

Jim Chapman, speaking for the silent majority, because he won't let them talk.

  1. I'm guessing 'comments' will be posted after they've been first scrutinized on the 'Voice' website. A sensible thing to do, considering most of us on these there blogs do the same thing.

Of course, offering a 'comments' opportunity isn't a given considering Jim's other website - www.jimchapman.ca where the home-page features a fancy live-motion banner of the words - "What do YOU think?"

... and yet there's no place on that site to post a comment and let Jim and his Fringe Minority following know how or what you think.

Only an email address to order Jim's supposedly out of print vanity-press book about his 'near death experience.'

One of Jim's loved ones should tell him to take that old site down. It's embarrassing. Even tho he copyrighted all the contents just a few months ago.

Except that that no comments are allowed. You cannot comment. I guess he is maintaining his echo chamber.

  3. But he's the Voice of London! Why would you need to comment other than to agree? He's just saving bandwidth--for us! So now we can download Harper's budget and have it framed in, like, micro-seconds!
