A Song and A Recommendation

I have been listening to a lot of 80s music lately. Not the usual Hall 'n Oates schlock, but good stuff. As the Winnie The Pooh song goes, "Look around, it can be found". One place you can find it is at SomaFM on their Underground 80s channel. This is the music I didn't know existed until I went to university way back in 85. There I met people who weren't raised in the Musical Death Valley that is London Ontario. It turned out that the rest of the word wasn't listening to shit. It was a bit of a revelation, like mushrooms.

My second plug is for TuneIn Radio. Their web page is the basic pile of good stuff you expect from internet radio. What they do really well is their app for the Iphone/IPad. Holy balls that is well thought out. The free version is great, but the paid version is well worth the $5 for the addition of record option. It's like having a pvr for your radio. You can rewind up to an hour of audio for whenever you miss something. After getting used to that function on a pvr, I've found listening to radio frustrating when I can't rewind a part I missed because some damn kid wouldn't stop yelling, or somebody's dog had to let the entire neighbourhood know that somebody is 500 m from the house. I have eyes you stupid animal, stop barking at me. And why can't you children just do the one damn thing I ask? Is that so much to ask?

Where was I?

Oh yeah, The Sparks. Heard this on SomaFM. Haven't heard it since I owned a skinny red-leather tie. I like they way they almost challenge the audience with the start of the song. Sort of, "Yeah, we'll start. Eventually."
